Workforce Response Team (WRT) Workforce Training Grants
COIC provides fiscal administration and staff services for the Central Oregon Workforce Response Team (Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties), and the South Central Oregon Workforce Response Team (Klamath and Lake Counties).
The Workforce Response Teams award Employer Workforce Training Fund (EWTF) grants to traded sector businesses for employee training projects. The purpose of the grant funds is to support the retention and growth of living wage jobs, a skilled workforce and competitive businesses in Central Oregon and South Central Oregon. The emphasis of the funds is to upgrade skills of the private sector workforce in order to increase productivity, keep Central Oregon businesses viable and competitive, to offer new skills and opportunities to workers, and to create and retain jobs.
Both Workforce Response Teams have grant funds currently available - see below for details specific to each WRT.
Central Oregon
The Central Oregon WRT provides Employer Workforce Training Fund grants to businesses in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties.
Eligibility Requirements:
Eligible companies are for profit employers residing within Crook, Deschutes or Jefferson counties for 120 days with 75% of their goods or services sold outside the tri-county area. A dollar-for-dollar cash or in kind match is required from employer.
Funding Priorities:
* Training proposals that create jobs
* Training proposals from companies in:
Aerospace/Aviation
High Technology
Recreational Equipment Manufacturing
Secondary Wood Products
Headquarter Firms
Light Industrial & Manufacturing (Plastics, printing, misc.)
Research & Development
Renewable/Sustainable Energy
Grant Applications are accepted by the 1st day of each month and evaluated by the Workforce Response Team on the 2nd Wednesday of each month until funds are depleted.
